Watermelon!!!

One of the absolute bestest things about living in the DEEP SOUTH is the food. And I'm not just talking about the fried chicken and biscuits and tomato gravy. Nope, I'm talking about all the stuff we grow down here that is just so damned good!

And on the top of that list is watermelon!

I love our watermelons. They are red and ripe and juicy and there is nothing that will make you feel better about yourself than sitting down and splitting one open and eating the heart out of it.

Prices have finally come down after the July 4th holiday so they aren't as painful to buy and there are still lots of pawpaws parked by the side of the road with a pick up truck full of them!

So my prayer for you is today that you'll stop and hand over a fiver to an old-timer in overalls and get you some.
