Facebook Killed Everything.......

Apparently all the prophets, seers and soothesayers were right..........facebook will suck the log out of your blog.

I'm so sorry. My wife has been out of town, which would be a perfectly natural time to whine about how lonely I am and how much I love and miss her.....which I did, only it was on facebook.

So yea, sorry.

But this morning, Im going to get her in New Orleans and bring her home and treat her like a princess (well, either that or a play date.....).

And starting next week, well, I would say that I'm going to be better about posting but the truth is that I am having sinus surgery on Tuesday and I'll be doing pre-op stuff on Monday and I'll be unconscious on Tuesday and feel like shit on Wednesday.....

So I'll just be back here when I'm through!!!

Peace/Out

Punk Lives

I went to a rock and roll show in New Orleans last night.

And I do mean a real live rock and roll show.

Not the armchair nostalgia tours that mostly occupy my adventures these days but a real live blast from the past.

A total sonic wall of noise/music that included fights, drug overdoses, puke, slam-dancing, police, bum rushes, tattoed tramps and all the stuff from the old times.....

I went on this odd odyssey with my lawyer and svengali confidant to see none other than the New York Dolls at the House of Blues.

The same New York Dolls that were simultaniously voted the Best New Rock Band of 1973 and the Worst New Rock Band of 1973 by Creem Magazine.

And oh yea, Punk Lives.......it may be wrinkled a bit, but it lives very loudly!

I know this well because my ears really hurt.

We saw the most eclectic crowd of people ever assembled and I jumped and I sweated and I jumped some more and I punched and I kicked and I was glad, for the first time ever, that security always pats you down and confiscates all weapons at the door - otherwise I would have killed someone or gotten cut or shot myself.

But it was nice to remember how it used to be and let yourself go just once more to that raw place where heaven and hell meet in a sonic mass of pure destruction with no meaning other than the celebration of life as it can be.

Yes boys and girls. Life is good. And I am one lucky boy.

But mostly, I'm glad my wife is so hot. And oh yes she is very, VERY HOT.....

Peace.

And long live rock.

Go Saints.........

As the temper-a-ture continues to rise in our fair portion of the universe, it lets me know that Summer is indeed here.

WHETHER or not I'm ready for it has no bearing on the WEATHER apparently.

But at this time of year, the one thing I'm certainly not thinking about is football. Very far from my pedestrian mind.

But I read a story today that the Saints have not only sold OUT their entire ticket allotment for the fourth year in a row, but that there is actually a waiting list of over 50,000 people who want season tickets.

How crazy is that?

New Orleans is truly a shadow of it's former self after Hurricane Katrina bit off more than it could chew. The population is only 30% of what it was 10 years ago.

So where is all this coming from.

It's like......um........er..........crazy man!

So congrats to the Saints. May their defense be as good as their ticket sales...... because if it's like it is last year, I'm afraid those tickets will once again turn into paper bags!

Peace/Out ya'll!
